WHY?

We are all victims of incomplete or faulty education in electrical science history. Nevertheless, we should not blame our teachers; they were also taught the popular version of history when they were in school. Further, it is likely that their teachers, and their teacher's teachers, were never taught correctly either. This pattern has continued, generation after generation, for more than 100 years.

So great was the effect of Tesla's discoveries in electricity and radio in the latter part of the 19th century, that the world exploded with technological progress. As a result, the ever increasing advancements in new technology dominates our media today. As a consequence of this result, the true pioneers in electrical science are forgotten.

We are trying our best to remind our students of one such "Forgotten Ameican Scientist" who gave more to the world than he ever received in return. He died at age 86, in the only home he ever knew in this country, a New York City hotel room, alone and in virtual poverty--except for a small stipend from a foreign government to pay for his food and room rent. Yet he was one of the greatest scientists the world has ever known--or forgotten.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP

You can contact the schools in your community--principals, teachers, science coordinators, anyone who might have a sympathetic ear. Alert them to a captivating aspect of science history, largely unknown in schools today, and how it can be used as a motivational tool for learning good writing skills.
